Adjusting back to Pacific Time

Getting back on Pacific Time has been much harder than I imagined.  The jet lag should be very similar to going to London and I've never really had a problem with that.  I think it's because of two main differences:
  1. In London, we're usually staying up late for pubs & clubs anyway
  2. We were in or traveling to Australia for almost 16 days.  I had adjusted much more to the local time than a normal 5-day London trip.
My comment to a co-worker was that I now know what a newborn feels like:  I keep waking up every hour or two all night long!  Once 4am hits, my body finally thinks it's the start of a full night sleep so getting up at 8am is like trying to wake yourself up at 3am.  It's unbelievably painful!

Hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll be adjusted back.

Melbourne and Sydney, Australia

Well, I should have written my travelogue as we went after Cairns, but I never sat myself back down to do it.   I'll have to just tell the story of what we saw via photo captions instead.

Recommendations:
  • Royal Botanical Gardens:  both Sydney and Melbourne
  • Sydney: "Manly to Spit" hike (it's tougher than you expect; be prepared with water, snacks, etc)
  • See a performance at the Sydney Opera House (don't bother with the inside tour)
  • Melbourne:  brunch in St. Kilda
Learn more about a trip through my Melbourne and Sydney photo albums.  The captions will hopefully tell you the stories!
